I asked where he had got the number from as it was brand new and we had not given it to anyone, he said it had been passed on to him from the Insurance register and I had been in an accident, I reassured him I had not been in an accident in my life and where was the insurance based, he didnt understand so I offered some alternatives, London? Edinburgh? Manchester?..... yes it's Manchester.... I asked which street in Manchester and he just said "F" off mate and slammed the phone down..... where do these people get your phone numbers from when you don't share them? |

How do they get your number, from your internet provider who`s call center is in the same building/address that you call to report faults etc with your media provider. The dangerous money scam calls about your computer/faults usually start about two to three days after you contact your media broadband supplier and your call is transferred to their call center in India. I have personally traced these links and also the scammer`s phone numbers and they all in the past have end up at the same location/address. By the way my media supplier is a bit of a Virgin when it comes to hiding these links, but the constant nuisance phone calls get very annoying so what is the next step, do a bit of investigation and ferreting about and report the phone number and any relevant information to the Information Commissioners Office, a government investigator, who will take the culprits to task and issue fines up to £3,000,000 when convicted. |
