| 01245654125 | I received a phone call from 01245654125,supposidly from Microsoft to tell me that my windows pc was downloading malicious spyware and virus's...... When I asked him what version of windows I was running he was unable to tell me.... after a few minutes he realised I was not falling for the scam and said F*&^("g A"£%^*e and hung up. 10 minutes later I received another phone call from the same number, but this time the caller was prepared and said I was running windows 7.... I said I wasnt and he said that I had probably upgraded my pc. I said I was running the same windows version that was on my pc when I bought it. He then gave me the operating system product code: 888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8FOF-00C04FD7D062 and then asked me to repeat it back to him, this was when I said that my "partner" was a computer engineer and that I had already received a phone call from "Micoroft" and had been called a F-----G A-----E, no appology from him, instead he said that it was good that my partner was a computer engineer but that he would not have the expertise to protect my computer,which was when I then said that my "partner" worked for Microsoft!!! Then he wanted to know my "partners" ID code!! This was when I told him that this was a scam and I was not falling for it. The phone call lasted 8 minutes. Now I am a bit computer savvy and did not fall for the scam, but I wanted others to be aware. ps. I rang the number back on redial and got the messsage "the number you have dialled has not been recognised" So please, please make sure that your nearest and dearest and anyone else you know are aware of this scam and do not get taken in, I know that they will then load suspicious malware and virus's on computers, either by getting your email or by other means. | 01137350205 | When called there is a recorded message in an American voice offering the option to press a number to be connected to an agent . Failure to act leads to being disconnected. The message is, in part, indecipherable but includes a suggestion to look up the website www.morningview.com which seemingly does not exist. Called three times from this number yesterday and twice today. Also calls from numbers ranging from 0113 7350192 to 0113 7350205. This does not seem to be a genuine Leeds number and has probably been hijacked. Be very wary. |
